Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic last day of term at Tanfield Comp today. The two Steves (Barlow and Skidmore) entertained us with hilarious tales from their stories. As you can see from the video below, it was a fully interactive experience, which the children raved about on the way home! They encouraged us to believe that 'we are all writers'. My favourite part was when they said that you should write about what you know: YOU! They also took the time to talk to Leah about her 100wc post. What was your favourite part? Enjoy the video below - sorry there is no sound, but I've added a Youtube clip to make it more atmospheric! Spooky Literacy Day from Mark temple on Vimeo. 100wc

Star of the Week: Callum for working exceptionally hard in Literacy and Numeracy. Blogger of the Week: Kristen for leaving supportive comments on our first attempts at the 100WC. First of all, well done on a terrific set of 100 word challenges yesterday; you wrote with a range of imaginative ideas, including some very surprising endings!
It is therefore not surprising the site had over 700 hits yesterday! Your work is starting to get comments from others, including Miss Hemmings and other children and adults from around the world. Don't forget to go to 100wc.net and comment on other children's work! If you refer them to your work, they might return the favour with you. Also, if someone has found your work and left a positive comment, return the favour for them! Enjoy your weekend, Mr Temple The class awards for the week :

It's my favourite mealThink about your favourite meal.
What do you like about it? How would you describe it to someone who has never tasted it? Think of its appearance, how it smells and what it tastes like. Think about what makes the meal special. Your task is to write a description of your favourite meal for someone who has never tasted it. |
